Waymilo
A responsive travel-companion pilot built around shared destinations, overlapping dates, mutual requests, and private conversations.
About the project.
Waymilo is a private local pilot for adults looking for travel companions or an open-to-dating connection around a real trip. Instead of beginning with a generic profile feed, discovery starts with destination, travel dates, and intent so the shared plan remains the organising idea.
We designed and developed the working product across account creation, trip publishing, search and filters, saved trips, mutual requests, chat, traveller profiles, photo management, blocking, reporting, and a manual selfie-review workflow. The interface uses clearly labelled fictional demo accounts and plans; the pilot is not presented as a launched public network or identity-verification service.
Inside the product.
Screens from the working local pilot. All people and travel plans shown are explicitly fictional demo content.

What we focused on.
Trip-led discovery
People search around compatible destinations, date overlap, and stated intent instead of an endless generic profile feed.
Mutual connection flow
Chat remains unavailable until a trip request is accepted, keeping the transition from discovery to conversation explicit.
Responsive product UI
Explore, profiles, requests, saved trips, and conversations adapt from a desktop workspace to compact mobile navigation.
Safety boundaries
Blocking, reporting, photo controls, consent copy, and manual review states are built into the pilot without overstating what they prove.
Persistent application data
Accounts, trips, requests, messages, saves, and reports persist through the server rather than behaving like a static prototype.
Honest demo presentation
Fictional accounts and example itineraries are labelled throughout, keeping portfolio evidence separate from real-user claims.
